Devanagari: अनर्थ ISO15919: anartha also written as anarth
Obstacles in the path of devotion. There are four kinds, arising from:
- sukritajata anartha - the desire to enjoy the pleasures of the celestial abodes,
- dushkritajata anartha - committing sin,
- aparadha janya anartha - offences committed towards God and Guru,
- bhakti jata anartha - performing devotional action outwardly, while inwardly, pride or desire for prestige has crept in.
