LEARN MORE

Anjana is also a powerful metaphor for the divine, especially in devotional poetry. Shri Krishna is referred to as the anjana of the gopis' eyes. This means He has eternally cured their eyes so they no longer seek material sights. They are purified and long to see only Him. In Ayurveda, anjana is an eye ointment or salve used for treating eye diseases, such as cataracts. The same as surma.
