Theistic philosophy: one of the two types of philosophies, darshana, by which we can have an absolutely accurate and decisive conclusion about something. See avaidika (also known as nastika darshana). Philosophy that accepts the Vedas as the authority and is based on the conclusions of the Vedas. Among them there are two streams: those that accept God and those that do not, although both accept Vedic authority.

Some astika darshan accepts the Vedas as the authority, such as Patanjali darshana and Vedant Darshana, and some astika darshan do not accept the Vedas as authority and yet believe in the existence of God (e.g., Islam, Christianity).
