Devanagari: घूँघट ISO15919: ghūm̐ghaṭa
The end of a sari or cloth used to cover the head and upper part of the face out of respect for elders or others deserving respect. Covering the head with a ghumghata was done by all chaste women in ancient Indian culture. Traditionally, in India women also cover their face when they are feeling shy.
