Devanagari: जार ISO15919: jāra also written as jaar
The word yaar (Devanagari: यार ISO15919: yāra) in Sanskrit is the word jaar. Beloved is referred to as jaar when there is no relationship between the two parties. When the two parties have no relationship, then their love is called jaar prem (Devanagari: जार प्रेम ISO15919: jāra prem). Shri Krishna is referred to as jaar.

Every relationship of every individual soul (master, friend, parent, child, beloved) is only with Shri Krishna. So, Shri Krishna cannot be yaar of any individual soul. So why is Shri Krishna called jaar? An individual soul has a mind, and it is the main performer of all actions. That mind is made of maya, the external power of God. Because of this, the mind has no real connection with Shri Krishna. So, the mind calls Shri Krishna jaar. It is prudent for the mind to consider Shri Krishna as a friend and love Him, then its goal of attaining God, attaining His service, gets solved.
In the world, if a woman has a conjugal relationship outside of wedlock, then her lover is also called jaar. Scriptures deplore this kind of relationship, and the fruit of such actions is narak.
