Devanagari: जारिणी ISO15919: jāriṇī
The feminine form of jaar. The synonymn is vyabhicharini (Devanagari: व्यभिचारिणी ISO15919: vyabhicāriṇī). Veda Vyasa has used this word in the Bhagavatam in reference to the gopis, for they loved Shri Krishna as a married woman loves a paramour. Yet, the spiritual status of these gopis was so high, that the governors of brahmand - Brahma, Vishnu, Shankara - longed to attain their foot dust.
In the world, this is a deprecating word for promiscuous women.
