Some advaita vedanti refer to the world as mithya or illusion. This is an incorrect interpretation. The material world was created by God and it exists. The material world does not last forever. That is why the world is called mithya. The expectation of getting permanent bliss from this world is also false. When the world itself won't last forever, how can the bliss from it last forever? This is another reason the world is called mithya (or false).
