The three afflictions: adhyatmika - suffering caused by one's body and mind (such as fever, anger and so on), adhibhautika - suffering caused by other living beings (such as mosquitoes, flies and so on), adhidaivika - suffering caused by higher powers (such as celestial gods, cyclones and so on).
