Referring to the devotional sentiment of parental love, the devotee looks upon God not as a superior master or friend, but as their own child. This unique relationship allows the devotee to care for, protect and nurture the Supreme Lord, setting aside His infinite majesty to experience intimate affection. As described by Rasika Saints, it is superior to shanta bhava (peaceful), dasya bhava (servitude) and sakhya bhava (friendship) due to its increased intimacy.
