Devanagari: विज्ञान ISO15919: vijñāna also written as vijnan, vigyan
The distinction between jnana and vijnana holds profound spiritual depth. It reveals the journey from understanding God to experiencing God.
Jnana - tattvajnana - the scriptural or intellectual understanding of spiritual truth. It is the knowledge given by the scriptures, the Saints and the Guru - knowledge about who we are, who God is, what the world is and what our true goal in life is. Vijnana means the direct realisation of this knowledge. When the heart becomes completely pure, divine grace descends, and jnana transforms into vijnana.
