Due to body identification, the individual soul searches for spiritual happiness in the material world, being incessantly engrossed in various material pleasures right up to the abode of Brahma. Due to his material senses, mind and intellect, he could never surrender to God or a Saint even though he has seen countless descensions of God and met countless Saints.
