The path of knowledge: one of the paths mentioned in Vedas for spiritual upliftment. The ultimate result of following this path is atmajnana.

To become eligible to tread this path, one has to master four compulsory pre-qualifications:
- mumukshu - a deep yearning for liberation,
- shamadi shata sampati - the six requisites for tranquility of the mind,
- vairagya - detachment or renunciation from the world and
- viveka - discrimination between the eternal and non-eternal.
Then observe eight internal disciples to practise to attain atmajnana are -
- viveka - discrimination between temporary and eternal,
- vairagya - detachment from the world,
- shamadi-shat-sampatti - developmental concentration, that is, control of the senses and six such disciplines (shama, dama, uparati, shraddha, samadhana, titiksha),
- mumukshatva - the desire for liberation,
- shravana - repeated listening to principal truths,
- manana - reflection,
- nididhyasana - single-minded concentration,
- samadhi - absorption of the mind in the self.
