Followers of Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya refuted the version of advaita-vada propounded by Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya. They propounded that God, Brahm, is the one and only eternal entity. Brahm is nothing but light. When Brahm was endowed with vidya (knowledge), then a part of Brahm became ishvara. When Brahm was endowed with avidya (a lack of knowledge), then a part of Brahm becomes the jiva. However, this philosophy does not withstand logical reasoning. When there is only one entity, when and from where did vidya and avidya come? If Brahm is a faultless, indivisible form of light, how can Brahm be divided?
