The four main kinds of bonds are: sajatya sambandha - being of one category, that is, both God and the individual soul are conscious and eternal, saddheshya sambandha - residing in one place, that is, both God and individual soul reside inside each other in the heart, sakhya sambandha - eternal friendship, that is, God always desires the individual soul's well-being, and sayujya sambandha - a relationship of infinite union, that is, God resides within every individual soul and is the very source of the soul's consciousness.
