Only the Vedas offer shabda pramana as they are the eternal law of God. The Vedas are therefore the final evidence. Other scriptures such as the Puranas, Smritis, Darshan Shastras, Itihas, and so on, can be used as evidence ONLY if they agree with the Vedas.
