Also called gunavarika maya (Devanagari: गुणावरिका माया ISO15919: guṇāvarikā māyā), nobody can win over this aspect of maya on their own. It spares the jiva only upon being instructed to do so by the Supreme Lord. The Supreme God instructs it to spare only the fully surrendered jiva.
