The mind cannot stay idle for a moment, and so if it is not desiring the material world then it will desire God. A person with yukta vairagya remains equipoised when they are surrounded by luxuries or completely devoid of them. There are a few examples of such Saints who had luxuries to the hilt yet had yukta vairagya: Prahlada, Dhruva, King Janaka, Pundarika Vidyanidhi. The opposite of this kind of vairagya are phalgu vairagya and shmashan vairagya.
